One Confirmed Death After Fiery South Florida Semi-Truck Crash

Three Semi-Trucks Collide in South Florida, Sparking Fiery Consequences 

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the crash involved three semi-trucks that collided on the Florida Turnpike. At about 3:30 AM, these three semi-trucks were all traveling south in the same lane. The first two semi-trucks slowed down due to congested traffic up ahead, but the third trucker failed to brake in time. This caused a rear-end collision, which subsequently sparked a chain-reaction crash. The second semi-truck was pushed into the back of the first by the impact.

The rearmost semi seems to have suffered the worst of the damage, going up in flames after the collision. Whether it was the flames or the blunt force trauma caused by the impact, the driver of this semi-truck did not survive. The trucker who was “sandwiched” between the two other semis was severely injured, while the trucker at the front of the “pack” was completely unharmed. Investigators continue to look into what might have caused the collision.
