Gabriel Gonzalez, aka “Zach,” has dedicated his career to obtaining justice on behalf of all categories of victims. Having 40 felony and misdemeanor jury trials under his belt as an Assistant State Attorney, Zach now handles personal injury cases ranging from vehicle accidents to negligent security and complex product liability claims.
Zach approaches his cases with grit and zeal but handles his clients with compassion, sensitivity, and respect. While at the Orlando State Attorney’s Office, he worked with some of the most tender victims, proving that, while tough in the courtroom, his capacity for empathy for his client’s needs is a strength. His ability to relate to all victims in an authentic way lets them know he is fighting for them.
Zach served as an Assistant State Attorney in the Orlando State Attorney’s Office right out of law school. As a State Attorney, he prosecuted thousands of criminal cases ranging from simple misdemeanors to life felonies. His superior record in the State Attorney’s Office earned him a promotion to the Felony Domestic Violence and Child Abuse Unit. Traditionally, the domestic violence and child abuse cases are extremely difficult to prove, but Zach met the challenges head-on. As a parting gesture for the State Attorney’s Office, Zach secured multiple convictions on a highly litigated attempted murder case, closing a several months investigation.
Born and raised in South Florida, Zach obtained his undergraduate degree from the University of Miami, Cum Laude, and subsequently graduated from the University of Florida Levin College of Law, also Cum Laude. While a student at the University of Florida, Zach received two Book Awards – an award for the most outstanding student – in his Trial Team and Trial Practice courses. Outside the classroom, he was the Senior Vice-President of the UF Law Trial Team.
He competed in six sanctioned trial competitions, winning several awards, including the Best Advocate Award at the South Texas Trial Team Invitational in recognition of his oral advocacy skills. Zach also received the distinction of being one of two students in his graduating class to be honored with the Order of the Barristers Oral Advocacy Award for his dedication and skill to the practice of law at the trial level. Zach is admitted to practice law in all Florida State Courts and is an active member of both the Florida Bar and the Palm Beach County Justice Association.
In his free time, Zach has become a consummate builder, which began when his father encouraged him to take up woodworking. Most of his parents’ furniture was hand-made by Zach and his dad in their woodshop. He has also built an arcade machine, several computers, a 3-D printer, and is currently working on a drone. Zach loves taking his rescued dog, Zola, to the park, enjoys an active game of basketball and is passionate about archery.
